Finishing up and Starting something NEW

Well tonight I finished up my sea life creatures. I love they turned out. They are totally cute and simple too. They are so colorful and remind me of my past few visits to the Vancouver Aquarium. I will be packaging them tomorrow and they will be ready for sale by the weekend.

Of course I couldn't sit idle and instead of finishing the little sea creatures yesterday I started something new. I found a fun bunny rabbit head pattern and thought I could make a fun "Make a Bunny Face" set. I got right on it last night and I now have them half finished as well. Here they are as a work in progress. I used pastel colored felt shapes for the face parts, and pipe cleaners(chenille sticks) for the whiskers. I am pretty sure my son's preschool class will love these for their Spring Theme next week. That's all folks!!

What I am working on now.

During a weekend trip to a swap meet, I started working on a sea life set. It has 16 pieces, two each of a variety of colorful under-the-sea creatures. I have them all cut out and am just working on outlining them.

Also on my list of things to come are farm animals, wild animals, butterflies, Outerspace, transportation, geometric shapes, religious sets, make a pizza, more seasonal/holiday sets and of course more stories. Stay tuned to see how cute they all are.

My newest story is the Very Hungry Caterpillar. I love this story as do my children. There are so many stories that I could have started with but I decided to go big or go home.

This story has 32 pieces and all and hand cut and have painting detail on them. Each piece of fruit is individual and have holes cut in them, to represent the caterpillar eating through them. The little egg on the leaf, is attached to guard against losing it. (I know that is a possibility from my own sons playing with it.)

The whole time I was making it, I was reciting the story out loud, just to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. I have these available now. If you would like one, just leave a comment.

This felt story is to enhance the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. It is in no way endorsed by the author or publisher and is for personal use only.

A little about me

Here it is, my newest, latest and greatest endeavour. I decided it was time that I shared one of my passions with the rest of the world. I love to create and I love to work with children, so I combined those two things and launched Little Fella Felts. I create felt board stories, characters and shapes for use by children and their families as well as Early Childhood Professionals. It is quiet, clean fun for children. Felt stories help to foster creativity, imagination, and learning. They are a great way for children to practice fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, learn new songs , and have fun doing it.

I am a married, stay-at-home Mom, with two growing boys, Liam who is 3 1/2 and Riley who is 2. I also care for a little girl part time. I am personally working on losing weight, and with the help of my personal trainer have lost 40+ pounds over the last year. I have also completed a walking 1/2 marathon and will be walking another 1/2 in May 2009. In my spare time, I scrapbook, which I absolutely love.
